The astrapias are a genus, Astrapia (from Greek, meaning a flashing or lightning[1][2][3][4][5]), of birds of paradise, with of five species.
They are endemic to New Guinea.[1][2][3][4][5]
Description[edit]
The males have highly iridescent plumage and remarkably long tails.[1][2][3][4][5] Females are duller and have shorter tails.[1][2][3][4][5]
