Birds share the same senses as most mammals - sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. However, they also have the ability to migrate.
Hearing[edit]
The ear openings of most birds are hidden under feathers, and are on the sides of the head; in some birds, such as Old World vultures and ostriches, there is no feathers covering the opening[1].
