The Button Mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is an edible mushroom native to North America and Europe. It possesses many common names; most notably as the Common Mushroom.

Other names[edit]

Common Mushroom, White Mushroom, Cultivated Mushroom, Table Mushroom, and Champignon Mushroom. When immature and brown—this mushroom may be known variously as Swiss Brown Mushroom, Roman Brown Mushroom, Italian Brown Mushroom, Italian Mushroom, Cremini/Crimini Mushroom, Brown Cap Mushroom, or Chestnut Mushroom.

It is also known as the Portobello Mushroom when mature.
