The Jack-o'-Lantern Mushroom (Omphalotus olearius) is a poisonous mushroom from the Omphalotus genus.
It is a mushroom capable of bioluminescence which it allows it to be seen in low-light areas. The only part of the mushroom that actually "glows" are its gills as result of a specialized enzyme known as luciferase that acts upon the compound luciferin (much like fireflies).
