Melophinae is a subfamily of birds in the Emberizidae family. It contains the following species:[1]
- Brown-rumped Bunting, "Melophus" affinis
- Crested Bunting, Melophus lathami
- Black-headed Bunting, Emberiza melanocephala
- Red-headed Bunting, Emberiza bruniceps
The Black-headed and Red-headed Buntings are closely related, and may hybridize where they meet.[2] They tend to to have black on them, while the females are have brown somewhere on their bodies.[2][3]
