Eurasian Gosawk, or Northern Goshawk or just Goshawk, Astur gentilis is a species of raptor in the Accipitrini tribe. It forms a species-group with American Goshawk, Accipiter atricapillus, Henst's Goshawk, Accipiter henstii, Black Sparrowhawk, Accipiter melanoleucus and Meyer's Goshawk, Accipiter meyeri.[2]

Description[edit]
The Eurasian Goshawk, similar to its relative the Sparrowhawk, has broad, blunted wings and a rather fierce looking expression. They can be hard to see being secretive birds.

Behaviour[edit]
Goshawks are perfectly adapted to their habitat. Living in woodlands they must be quick and fast, able to dodge around obstacles and react speedily. This they can do, and their shape is perfect for speed and agility.

The Goshawk is a bird of forests and woodland but can be found over grassland occasionaly. They are secretive birds which is why they prefer living in woods.
